I'm having a nightmare configuring Outlook 2007 on my new laptop. I used IMAP previously and never had any issues however this time it is 'synchronising'... and that's it! Messages send ok but I can't get any in. Well, I've really only been playing around for a couple of hours but how long should I wait. Looks like I have to go back to POP. Not happy at all :-(

I think you are right. I'm not sure how good anyone does at IMAP implementations. I've never had great luck with it.

Really- that is interesting. Wouldnt you think it would be an Outlook issue though as opposed to a GMAIL issue? One of the big bene's of IMAP (as you know) is that I can organize my mail on one device and all the other devices track the changes... There must be some way to get this to work wouldn't you think?

Kevin,
I've got the same problem with moving stuff between folders. I've ended up keeping my own separate (local) pst for my folders. I"m not very happy with gmail in general. Off or Online

I am using Outlook 2007 and IMAP to connect to GMAIL. When I go "offline"- I can no longer move email between folders- I get a message that I must be connected. I have downloaded all content and not just the headers.

Any ideas on what I should try?
